Washington — OSHA has printed an infographic on working safely within the heat.
Developed in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the one-page infographic encourages employees to:
- Drink a cup of cool water each 20 minutes, even if you happen to aren’t thirsty. For extra strenuous and longer jobs, drink a beverage with electrolytes, resembling a sports activities drink.
- Take common relaxation breaks within the shade or one other cool location.
- Know the indicators of heat sickness.
The infographic is a part of OSHA’s Heat Illness Prevention marketing campaign. The company plans to translate it into a number of languages.
