Washington — The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division are collaborating to “elevate workplace justice issues of mutual interest across the country.”
According to a Memorandum of Understanding introduced on Sept. 14, that cooperation includes enhancing and maximizing the enforcement of federal legal guidelines and rules. Those embrace two lately enacted legal guidelines: the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act.
The MOU formalizes and will increase coordination between the companies by info sharing, joint investigations, coaching and outreach, in keeping with an EEOC press launch. The doc outlines procedures to be adopted by each companies.
