Dallas — OSHA Region 6 has renewed two of its emphasis programs and revised one other.
The two renewed REPs deal with poultry processing amenities and fabricated steel producers. The revised REP, for the well being care trade, updates the “targeted” North American Industry Classification System codes for:
- Freestanding Ambulatory Surgical and Emergency Centers (NAICS 621493)
- All Other Outpatient Care Centers (NAICS 621498)
- All Other Miscellaneous Ambulatory Health Care Services (NAICS 621999)
- General Medical and Surgical Hospitals (NAICS 622110)
“The Bureau of Labor Statistics injury data for these industries is higher than the national average for private industry,” an OSHA discover states.
The three REPs, which went into impact July 1, are for all related worksites in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, in addition to worksites in New Mexico which are below federal OSHA jurisdiction.
