Foam snow varieties when crews minimize Styrofoam and different polystyrene foams for insulation and exterior insulation and end programs, in line with a DOB construction advisory printed July 3. Residual particles typically blow off the jobsite and litter the encompassing space. The set up waste particles “generates a slipping hazard, and can clog storm drains and pollute waterways.”
Inadequate housekeeping violations may end up in fines and enforcement motion.
DOB gives the following tips:

- Use sanding and chopping machines with vacuum attachments.
- Continually vacuum scaffolds and work areas when sanding and chopping.
- Immediately vacuum sidewalks and different publicly accessible areas when set up waste particles is current.
- Enclose scaffolds (when sensible) and work areas with tarps or comparable tight enclosures to comprise the particles.
- Provide correct containers for disposing of the particles.
- Vacuum any particles that seems when unwrapping insulation supplies, together with the perimeters of supplies which were minimize earlier than set up.
- After shifts, carry out an intensive jobsite inspection – inspecting scaffolds, nets, tops of sidewalk sheds, balconies, and many others. – and vacuum any particles.
