Washington — A Spanish-language model of a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences useful resource supposed to assist employers establish and implement steps to guard staff from heat stress is now out there.
The Building Blocks for a Heat Stress Prevention Training Program is organized into 5 sections (with checklists) and an appendix. The sections cowl:

- Training, approaches and sources wanted for a heat stress administration program
- How heat is managed in the office
- What makes heat stress worse?
- Approaches to make sure staff’ rights
The appendix options two tables from the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists on threshold restrict values and motion restrict values for heat stress.
The useful resource is very helpful for staff in building, transportation, agriculture, catastrophe response and restoration, “and many other jobs that are vulnerable to the impacts of heat stress,” NIEHS says.
