For its second annual Shift Pulse Report, office software program developer Deputy used its Shift Pulse device to measure the sentiment hourly staff throughout the hospitality, well being care, retail and providers industries had towards their work. The staff, after 421,000 particular person shifts, rated how they felt on a sliding scale, from “stressed” to “amazing.”

Among staff within the provide chain sector, workers in warehousing and storage had been the least happy with their job – 19% mentioned they felt harassed or pissed off afterward. That group was adopted by supply and postal service workers (13%); logistics, distribution and freight workers (11%); and manufacturing workers (9%).

On the flip aspect, the retail trade had the best share of staff who really feel “amazing” after their shifts, at 52%. Next was the hospitality trade, at 50%.

Overall, well being care workers reported largely constructive feelings, with 78% of shifts leaving them feeling good or wonderful, in accordance with a Deputy press launch. However, not all of them left work with the “same feel-good vibes”:

  • Dentists skilled the best share of shift satisfaction within the sector, with 96% of shifts inspiring constructive feelings (87% saying “amazing” and 9% saying “good”).
  • Hospital workers reported place feelings after 85% of their shifts – 56% had been “amazing” and 28% had been “good.”
