Washington — OSHA is accepting nominations for membership on its Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health.
FACOSH members advise the labor secretary on points regarding the occupational security and well being of federal workers. That consists of “providing advice on how to reduce and keep to a minimum the number of injuries and illnesses in the federal workforce, and how to encourage the establishment and maintenance of effective occupational safety and health programs in each federal agency.”
The 16-member council is made up of eight administration representatives and eight labor representatives.
According to a discover revealed on Sept. 11, OSHA is seeking one administration rep and 4 labor reps for three-year phrases starting Jan. 1. The deadline to submit nominations is Oct. 11.
FACOSH’s subsequent assembly is ready for 1 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 17. The digital assembly will likely be open to the general public in listen-only mode.
